WhatsApp Business messages face new charges from October 1

WhatsApp Business accounts are facing a change in how customer service messages are delivered and billed, with Meta ending the free tier for many service replies from October 1.
Business phone numbers will still get 1,000 free service messages each month. After that, replies sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform or API will be charged, and any unused allowance will not roll over.
The new rules affect online stores and other businesses that use WhatsApp to answer customers. Messages sent through Meta’s own Business Agent Platform are handled separately and billed on token use.
The change marks the end of a free messaging setup that had applied to service replies and utility-window exemptions.
