Phillies, Braves headed to decisive Game 3 after Harper’s Game 2 homer

The Phillies and the Braves are tied at one win each in their National League wild-card series, sending the matchup to a decisive Game 3. Philadelphia won 4-3 in Atlanta on Wednesday night after Bryce Harper hit the game-tying home run in the eighth inning.

Harper had earlier misjudged a fly ball in right field, but he answered with the kind of swing that has defined many of his biggest October moments. Kyle Schwarber also homered to pull the Phillies within a run before Harper drove a slider into the right-field seats.

The win kept the season alive for the Philadelphia Phillies, the National League East team that plays at Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia. The Braves, their division rivals from Atlanta, had been one out away from moving on before the Phillies rallied late.

Attention now turns to Game 3. Aaron Nola is expected to start for Philadelphia, with Zack Wheeler, Andrew Painter, Jhoan Duran and other bullpen arms listed as possible options after the heavy pitching use in Game 2.
