Cardinals move toward trading Marvin Harrison Jr., with Texans in the picture

The Arizona Cardinals are working to finalize a trade of wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who is set to be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions while the deal is worked out.

Houston has emerged as a possible destination. The Texans have held trade talks with Arizona, but no acquiring team has been identified and a completed trade has not been announced.

Harrison, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison, was selected fourth overall by the Cardinals in the 2024 NFL draft after starring at Ohio State.

Arizona has reportedly sought a second-round pick and more. One proposed package under discussion includes a 2028 second-round pick, while another account says the Cardinals have been pushing for a 2027 selection.

The Texans would reunite Harrison with quarterback C.J. Stroud, his former Ohio State teammate. The details of any agreement remain unsettled.

The Indianapolis Colts, where Harrison’s father spent his entire NFL career, are not involved in trade talks, and Kansas City is also not pursuing a deal, despite speculation about the Chiefs.

Harrison has five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown through four games this season. For now, his next team and the final trade terms remain unclear.
