Max Verstappen uzima prvu pole poziciju sezone u Maleziji
Max Verstappen je u kvalifikacijama na stazi Sepang International Circuit osvojio prvu pole poziciju u 2026. i tako ponovno došao na vrh nakon razdoblja u kojem Red Bull nije bio na vrhu poretka.
Vozač Red Bulla nadmašio je Lewisa Hamiltona za 0,298 sekundi. Hamilton je završio drugi i rekao je da će mu u nedjelju trebati dobra vožnja da ga zadrži iza sebe na Velikoj nagradi Bahreina u Maleziji.
Verstappen je bio najbrži u sva tri dijela kvalifikacija. Iza njega su završili Isack Hadjar, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris i Oscar Piastri.
Hadjar će zbog kazne izgubiti pet mjesta na startu. Liam Lawson će krenuti sa začelja nakon promjene pogonske jedinice, a Franco Colapinto i Arvid Lindblad nisu postavili vrijeme u Q2 zbog vlastitih kazni.
Na vrhu sezone to je važan pomak za Red Bull, koji je ranije bio iza Mercedesa po brzini, a sada je u Maleziji dobio priliku za novu borbu u utrci.
