Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou, with Kylian Mbappé scoring the winner in the 87th minute. The result gave Madrid a significant El Clásico victory and brought the team closer to the top of LaLiga, Spain’s top football league.

Mbappé scored twice for José Mourinho’s side. Raphinha got Barcelona’s goal, and the teams were level at 1-1 before Mbappé’s late strike settled the match. The win ended Barcelona’s unbeaten start in the league.

Mourinho praised his players’ organization and concentration after the game. He said they faced a Barcelona side that pressed strongly, and that Madrid stayed composed even after Barcelona’s response made it 1-1.

Madrid had chances to extend its lead early in the second half, Mourinho said. Barcelona then had a strong spell, but the match remained close until Mbappé found the decisive goal in the closing minutes.

The result matters beyond the rivalry: it shifts the pressure in the LaLiga title race. Madrid gained ground on the league leaders, while Barcelona suffered its first league defeat of the season. The exact standings after the match were not specified.

Barcelona also had a setback when Espart was injured. The available details do not give the nature of the injury or how long he might be out. Mourinho, meanwhile, questioned a VAR decision involving João Cancelo and Yan Diomandé, saying he believed the incident warranted a red card.

For Barcelona, the loss leaves a first league defeat to absorb after a close finish at home. For Real Madrid, Mbappé’s late goal turned a level match into a win that strengthens its position in the title race. No details of either team’s next fixture were provided.
