India beat Sri Lanka to reach the Asian Games final

India have moved into the Asian Games men’s cricket final after beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the second semi-final at Korogi Athletic Park in Nisshin.

The target was 170, and Sri Lanka were bundled out for 45 in 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah made the early break with two wickets in his first five balls, while Abhishek Sharma also took two wickets.

Sri Lanka’s batting never settled. Nuwanidu Fernando made 15, the top score in the innings, and the rest of the chase collapsed amid run-outs and pressure on a cracked, turning surface.

Ishan Kishan anchored India’s innings with an unbeaten 80 off 46 balls. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added 38 as India built a total that proved far too much on a difficult pitch.

India will now face Pakistan in the gold-medal match, the first meeting between the two teams in an Asian Games men’s cricket final.
