Wales lose again to Denmark as Rasmus Hojlund scores from the spot

Wales suffered a second defeat to Denmark in the Nations League, losing 2-0 at Cardiff City Stadium after a costly mistake from Danny Ward and a penalty from Rasmus Hojlund.
The first half was tight, with Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard missing chances for Denmark. Ward then kept Wales in the game after the break with two strong saves before the match turned on his error in possession.
Hojlund stepped up and converted the penalty, punishing Wales for the lapse. Wales had already lost 2-0 to Denmark earlier in the campaign, and this result made it back-to-back wins for Denmark in the group meetings.
Craig Bellamy’s side had come into the match after beating Norway, but could not carry that level into Cardiff. Jordan James said the team were not as intense as they had been in the previous game and were sloppy going forward.
Wales remain in third place in Group 4 and still have two November fixtures left, away to Norway on 14 November and then at home to Portugal at Cardiff City Stadium.
