Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4-1 as Mbappé scores twice

Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, moving into third place in La Liga. Kylian Mbappé scored twice in the win.

Arda Güler opened the scoring with a spectacular strike. He had earlier avoided a red card for an elbow, then gave Madrid the lead.

Mbappé doubled the advantage with an individual goal, using a roulette move near the edge of Sevilla’s penalty area before shooting.

He added his second from the penalty spot, chipping the ball Panenka-style to complete his brace.

Yan Diomandé also scored for Madrid. He started on the left in place of Vinícius Júnior, who was suspended.

The result leaves Madrid six points behind leaders Barcelona, with Atlético Madrid in second. Barcelona and Real Madrid are due to meet next weekend.

Manager José Mourinho said the team had played well and was still working to improve, adding that the players had been together for only a short time.
