Germany beat Serbia 2-0 in the Nations League

Germany beat Serbia 2-0 in Munich in the UEFA Nations League, and Jürgen Klopp got his first win as Germany coach.

Florian Wirtz played a central part in the result. He helped set up the opening goal, then scored the second with a controlled finish after the break.

Wirtz also wore the captain’s armband for the second half, his first time leading the national team. After the match, he said the movement around him helped him find space and make an impact.

Serbia, the opponent in the League A fixture, were held to few clear chances as Germany controlled the game. The result leaves the broader standings context unchanged here, but it was a clear step forward for Germany under Klopp.
