India beat Pakistan by 19 runs in the Asian Games men’s cricket final in Nisshin, Japan, to take the gold medal.

India reached 211-6 in 20 overs after Shreyas Iyer chose to bat first. Abhishek Sharma made 61 and Tilak Varma scored 51 as India set Pakistan a target of 212.

Pakistan were chasing the total in the final at Korogi Sports Park, with the score still moving through the innings when the live updates showed them on 121/3 after 13.4 overs. The chase ended short, leaving India on top in one of cricket’s most watched rivalries.
