EDIT: The game finished 1:1.

France and Italy meet at the Stade de France on Friday in the UEFA Nations League, with both teams still settling under new leadership.

France go into the game top of Group A1 with six points from two wins, both 1-0 away from home against Türkiye and Belgium. Italy have three points after losing their opener to Belgium and then beating Türkiye 4-1 in Bursa.

Zinedine Zidane is preparing for his first home match as France coach, after taking charge in late July. France have done without Kylian Mbappé, who left the squad after a knee injury while scoring against Türkiye, while Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise are among the attacking options available.

Italy arrive with confidence after the win in Türkiye, but the fixture brings a heavy weight of history as well as points. The match is set for 21:45 EAT in Saint-Denis, outside Paris.
