England beat Czechia 3-0 as Harry Kane matches caps record

England beat Czechia 3-0 at Wembley in the Nations League, with captain Harry Kane involved in all three goals. The win left England close to securing a place in the quarter-finals.

Kane made his 125th appearance for England, drawing level with former goalkeeper Peter Shilton at the top of the national team’s appearance list. He also took his international goal tally to 91.

England’s opener came when Kane sent a cross into the penalty area and Czech defender Vladimir Coufal put the ball into his own net.

Kane then scored before half-time, finishing a move that involved Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers. The England captain added his second after the break with a header from Lewis Hall’s delivery.

He was substituted in the 82nd minute to a warm reception at Wembley. England finished the international break with three wins from four matches and 14 goals.

England need one point from their last two Nations League games to confirm their quarter-final place. Those matches are due in November.

Kane said he was proud of his personal milestones, but that winning a major trophy with England would mean more to him than individual records.
