Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 in Copenhagen after Ronaldo leaves camp
Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 in Copenhagen and kept their perfect start in Nations League Group A4.
João Cancelo put Portugal ahead in the 13th minute, Mikkel Damsgaard levelled for Denmark, and Gonçalo Ramos restored the lead before halftime. Rasmus Højlund made it 2-2 early in the second half.
Vitinha, the former PSG midfielder, headed Portugal back in front for his first goal for the national team after a Bruno Fernandes cross. João Félix added a late fourth.
The result came in the first match since Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s 41-year-old captain and record goalscorer, left the camp before the game after being benched against Norway. Jorge Jesus said the rules are the same for everyone.
